My family is at Disney World today and I am sitting in house with no furniture eating a slim Jim for dinner. My brother in law is a solder in Iraq but is home for a few days. My wife and Kids went to visit him and he took them to Disney World for the day. I had to stay behind to take care of some transitions our family is going through. I miss them and cant wait for them to get home! I’d put up a picture of me eating a slim jim but it’s not a pretty sight.

The Law of Seven Touches
So I’m reading a book for school that taught about the Law of Seven Touches.. The book states, “the church that contacts the most people, the most times will have the most growth”… This sounds like marketing 101 to me and makes me want to run for the hills… However, we are having the “back door” problem I mentioned a few posts ago. So, I have decided to take the advice of my evangelism professor and implement the Law of seven touches and see how it goes.

Iceland Project Update
Two years ago this time Jennifer and I were returning home from our adventure in Iceland. We went there to encourage Icelandic nationals to plant new churches. We lived in Reykjavik for four months and had one of the greatest adventures of our life.
This week, after nearly five years of preparation, training, praying and sort term trips our treasured friends the Garmans arrive in Iceland as full time missionaries. The Garmans join the scores of great men and women that throughout church history who have acted upon their belief that the Gospel is is infinitely more valuable than the American dream.
This tiny nation is drastically different than it was when we left two years ago. The economy has collapsed, the unemployment rate is through the roof and population of this tiny nation is desperate for a glimpse of light. I can’t wait to see what God has in store!
Colby, Annie, Haley and Darcy, thank you!
below is one of six update videos that I made in 2006 during our 4 month stay.
More About the “Big Ask”
I know that many are wondering about the “Big Ask”. Although I can’t yet divulge the details, I can say that our church asked for several acres of property from an unnamed organization. We have been meeting in a school for the past four years and have committed to focus our resources on church planting here and abroad. We located a property in the center of our community that we believe would provide permanence to our migrant congregation and serve as a hub for church planting. The “unnamed organization” accepted our request and very optimistically promised to join us in researching the possibility. Over the next several weeks we will be researching the cost of construction. Please join us as seek God’s will in this matter.
